Have you gotten that special someone in your life a special gift? If they are KISS fans, you may be able to purchase a KISS wedding package. The band is auctioning off a package that includes Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley as guests of honor. If you’ve already gotten married, the package could be set up for vow renewals. They won’t come to you, though. You’ll have to go to them. Plans are for the winning bidder to go to the Wedding Chapel inside the KISS Monster Mini Golf in Las Vegas March 15th. A limo ride, a two night hotel stay, bridal make-up, flowers, a groom “KISS costume,” cake, photos, silver KISS guitar pick necklaces, dinner for the couple and 20 guests. But, the band won’t be playing. Instead, you’ll get a tribute band to take the stage for the reception. Really? The eBay auction is going on now through Tuesday. Current bid is at $5,100. The winners will christen the “Hotter Than Hell” Wedding Chapel. February 8, 2012 Music News from the Rock Station, 92-7 WQLZ by Bishop It's out Did you get out and pick up the new Van Halen record? The first studio album in over 13 years is getting mixed reviews with more people seeming critical of the effort. Coming in at 13 tracks, singer David Lee Roth said a lot of the songs are tunes the band had on the shelf from decades ago. After polishing those up and writing some new ones, the album A Different Kind of Truth came together. There’s several version you can pick up including a bonus DVD. Now the band is revving up for a North American tour to start in KY. The band will be in St. Louis April 29. In the studio Speaking of new albums, chick-fronted rockers Flyleaf are in the studio for another record. This will be the band’s 3rd attempt. February 7, 2012 Music News from the Rock Station, 92-7 WQLZ by Bishop Dave: No written speech We know that Dave Grohl and the boys from Foo Fighters are gonna get a Grammy for something. Foo Fighters are up for six different Grammys, so the odds are pretty good that they’ll walk away with at least one if not a couple. So when they take the stage Sunday to accept the Grammy award for whatever category they win, Grohl says he won’t have a speech written on a cocktail napkin. His speech will be completely off-the-cuff. You think he’d want to write a speech being the son of a speech writer father and public speaking teacher mother. But one thing he learned from them is to never read a speech. Expect Grohl and the Foo Fighters to walk away big this Sunday for the Grammy Awards. Interactive Chili Peppers Red Hot Chili Peppers have released an interactive video for “Look Around.” The hope is that you’ll want to watch it several times to see the entire video for what it is. The video was originally released late last month edited together in one cohesive video. In the interactive video released yesterday, the viewer has control of the camera. We’ve seen this before for museum exhibits but not for a rock band’s music video. When you watch the video you’ll be able to pan through the four different band members’ cameras while they play the song. There’s also a few Easter Eggs here and there.

Show brief Terror-hyped hot dog stands, Alternative Privacy in the New World, Shoebat opposes Ron Paul's foreign policy, Eugenics and Planned Parenthood, News on the March and your phone calls; don't miss Saturday Session from 3 to 7p CST on 970 WMAY, The News and Talk of Springfield. Listen live online at WMAY.com. Terror-hyped hot dog stands
Alternative privacy Let's face it--the system is clearly degenerating at a rapid rate. Not only is the economic picture around the world still very bleak with the prospect of more war on the horizon, but the Internet is turning into a battlefield where our digital identities and online freedoms do have a price and are being sold-out and bought on the open market. Think this is a joke? This is reality. Twitter censors in Thailand, Google changing it's privacy policy at a whim, Facebook's PIO ... all while the Government tracks down websites that broadcast sporting events like the Super Bowl. But there are alternatives and the author of Spy Chips, Dr. Katherine Albrecht, will join Saturday Session live at 3:30 pm CST to talk about what you can do now to secure who you are and what you are. False flag terrorist gun-runners A big discussion is about to take place. There are countless examples of governments using problem-reaction-solution in order to obtain a political objective--primarily a goal aimed at control over you. Be it the 40-some-odd interrupted terror plots (plans facilitated primarily by agents of the FBI) that lead to an over-hyped threat and more anti-terror funding or another recent example of the government allowing guns to walk across the border as a way to frame the second Amendment--we have to wake up to the reality. False flag terror is real and used by elements of governments to protect or insight certain interests. Ron Paul's foreign policy You're bound to hear "Ron Paul is great, except his foreign policy is dangerous" from a myriad of sources including Walid Shoebat who will be a guest to Saturday Session tonight at 5 pm CST. Shoebat claims to be a "Former PLO Terrorists Now Speaks out for US and Israel" on his website Shoebat.com In a press release, Shoebat is quoted saying "a significant percentage of Ron Paul's support comes from people who believe 9/11 was perpetrated by the United States government. Wouldn't an enemy that wants its identity hidden encourage the perpetuation of that belief?" Of course, this will get heated and maybe we can take calls with questions for Mr. Shoebat, so get them lined up at 217.629.7970 or email your questions to Bishop@WMAY.com. Don't miss this heated debate.
If there's time, we'll discuss Eugenics. What is it? It's not just Hitler's science anymore ... We'll review some recent examples by way of lab-created super bird flu that seems to have been given the green light by the scientific community or the settlements paid out to minorities that were tested on by agencies of the government. Be it through vaccinations, bio-weapons or even genetic modification of our foods, our species is being changed by a very sophisticated science that is working to either kill off the majority of humanity, or blindly and erroneously following a plan of genetic purification--a foolish and dangerous venture. What's the history of eugenics and where does it stand now? This is an important question especially given this week's dust-up over Susan G. Koman foundation and Planned Parenthood. Did you know that Planned Parenthood International was the work of Margaret Higgins Sanger who coined the term "birth-control" and was a eugenicist. News on the March Every week Saturday Session blitzes through a slew of headlines that all seem interconnected--that is if there is enough time. We'll also keep an eye on any news out of Nevada for the beginning of today's caucuses. Don't miss a minute of tonight's show. Contact Saturday Session airs every Saturday from 3 to 7 PM CST on 970 WMAY, the News and Talk of Springfield. You can contact Bishop many different ways. February 3, 2012 Music News from the Rock Station, 92-7 WQLZ by Bishop Holding things up There could be a potential snag in the Black Sabbath reunion and it doesn’t have anything to do with Tony Iommi’s cancer. One founding members is taking to the picket line with grievances that he wants fair pay and a lil’ respect. Drummer Bill Ward says he wants a contract that, quote, “reflects some dignity and respect toward me as an original member of the band.” While the rest of the band packed up and headed back to England to record while being to be closer to guitarist Tony Iommi while he undergoes cancer treatment, Ward says he’s in a holding pattern—but ready to pack up and head overseas. He also says this isn’t about money … it’s about his rights, dignity and respectability as a rock musician and he doesn’t want fans to hold him responsible if the reunion falls apart. Uh, if everyone’s a go except for Bill, I think fans will have no choice but to lay blame on Ward’s shoulders. Orgy to tour

February 2, 2012 Music News from the Rock Station, 92-7 WQLZ by Bishop Top secret show Just days after several previews of new tunes were released online, Van Halen took to a stage for a top-secret Los Angeles show … and there’s photos and video. The band performed at a media showcase which acted as a launch pad for the album which comes out next week and for the North American Tour which starts up in Kentucky February 18th. The Los Angeles Times asked “whether a ragged bunch of aging dudes can still kick it with the kind of enthusiasm you’d hope, given both the anticipation -- and the fat paychecks each will be cashing in the coming year.” They answered their own question – "They can." You can listen to previews of "China Town," "The Trouble with Never," "As Is," and "She’s The Woman." More side projects

Show brief
Even though she is the wife and manager of Ozzy Osbourne, she doesn’t have any say in the lineup of Black Sabbath. That’s what Sharon Osbourne is telling Twitter after people online began the rumor that she is the reason original Sabbath drummer Bill Ward is unhappy with the terms of his reunion contract. Taking to the social media platform in 140 characters, Sharon wrote
Friday we told you that the Black Sabbath reunion and the first album from them in years could be in jeopardy as original drummer Bill Ward (pictured to the right) demands some respect as the original drummer. Well, he must have ticked someone off ‘cause now the band says they’re gonna move on, with or without him. A quote from the other members says “We have no choice but to continue recording without him although our door is always open.” Ward, sounding like an AFSCME employee, said last week he wanted a fairer contract that would recognize him as the a rock musician. He says it’s not about money, it’s about respect.
It's Super Bowl weekend and the big game is expected to draw a hundred-million viewers. Americans and others from around the world will watch the spectacle of fancy camera work, flashy athletes making huge plays and strategically crafted media packages meant to fuel consumerism. This self-determined holiday, and the activities surrounding it, are alarming. By activities, I don't mean the elaborate parties of sports fans getting together to discuss the factoids of who caught what ball when--that's their rights of assembly and speech at practice. My concern are the activities surrounding the actual physical stadium in Indianapolis and the willingness to cooperate and go along to get along.
Eugenics
Gotta tell ya ... didn’t see this one coming. Orgy is back! And they’re gonna be hitting the road, but with a new lineup. The band that got it’s start in the late 90s with the debut album Candyass has been on tumultuous break for years. There were whispers of a reunion in 2008, but then things fell apart when it was reported vocalist Jay Gordon was leaving the band. Gordon later came out saying he owns the name and wants to go forward. The new lineup has only Gordon as the original members and he says his move isn’t meant to quote “piss” anyone off. The band will take to road February 10 with a stop in Chicago February 24, Sterger, Illinois, February 25 and O’Fallon, Missouri, March 2nd.
While Deftones guitarist Stephen Carpenter awaits the release of Initium II by Sol Invicto, a side project Carpenter is involved with, Deftones front man Chino hard at work on new music ... for a side project. Called ††† (Crosses), Chino hooks up with guitarist Shaun Lopez. Earlier this week they performed live and there’s
