Saturday Session's (06/06/09) special guest was professor of Political Philosophy at the University of Illinois at Springfield, Dr. Richard Gilman-Opalsky.

During the show, the Society of the Spectacle was presented. A quick review of Philosopher and Situationist Guy Debord was also discussed. Questions about the true antagonisms during the Cold War may surprise some, as the professors conclusions are that it was not between capitalism in the west and communism in the east, but rather two different forms of capitalism. Listen to the show to find out what the Cold War was truly all about.

Also, Richard talks about the difference between political ideology and political philosophy. Which one has the predetermined answers? Which one requires analysis, questions and deep criticism to develop the answer? Which is better?
